Twitter recently (and quietly) hid the RSS feed link from account pages. Here’s how to make one.
I’m not sure why and while they say because they favor OAuth, I’m guessing the move is about control, money or both. Twitter needs to make money and their interest in maintaining control just cost them $40-50 million in their purchase of Tweetdeck (to keep it out of Uber Media’s reach). Anyway, we can talk business strategies later, I’ll cut to the chase. Here are the rss feed urls for 3 of our Twitter accounts:
Mosio (@Mosio)
https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.rss?screen_name=mosio
Text a Librarian (@TextALibrarian)
https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.rss?screen_name=textalibrarian
FieldForce (@Field_Force)
https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.rss?screen_name=field_force
To create your own:
Simply replace the names after the = sign in the urls above with your preferred Twitter user name and you’re set.
If you have any problems, questions or other ideas on cool work arounds, please let us know.
